Jean and Ken were living at Mow Barton, I discovered that the local butcher's shop, not 200 yards away, had a 'Guest Cheese'. This was no ordinary Guest Cheese, this was only Kirkham Cheese! Knowing Jean & Ken had lived in Kirkham, I thought what are the chances, Kirkham cheese, from over 250 miles away, available in their closest shop? I couldn't believe it! I bought some, then rushed round to tell Jean what I’d discovered. Jean cut a piece off, tasted it and announced, with eyes closed; 'It's not as nice as it used to be'
One of my earliest days out with Jean and Ken - Jean had found out I am an anorak when it comes to geology and had planned a lovely drive through the beautiful country lanes of Dorset to arrive at a geologist's dream at the beach. We then walked along the beach to get a good look at the amazing rock strata in the cliffs. That was it, Jean could do no wrong in my book!
There is no such thing as ‘’too far to drive’’ when the recipe calls for Curly Leaf Parsley.
